Report: UFC Veteran Tom Watson Signs With Cage Warriors

MMA

It has been almost four years since the last time that UFC veteran Tom Watson has competed, but that drought is apparently coming to an end.

A report from MMA Fighting is stating that Watson has signed a multiple fight deal with the UK-based Cage Warriors promotion. The fighter had signed with the BAMMA promotion in July of last year, but the organization hasn’t run any events since last Summer. Watson is a former BAMMA Middleweight Champion, but held that title during his first run with the promotion.

The fighter will make his promotional debut this April at Cage Warriors 104, but no opponent has been announced at this time.

Watson went 2-5-0 during a seven fight run with the UFC, defeating the duo of Stanislav Nedkov and Sam Alvey, while suffering losses to the five pack of Brad Tavares, Thales Leites, Nick Catone, Rafael Natal and Chris Camozzi.

Fans were last able to see Watson compete at UFC Fight Night 73 in August of 2015, where he suffered a unanimous decision loss to the aforementioned Camozzi.

Cage Warriors 104 takes place on Saturday, April 27 from the Viola Arena in Cardiff, Wales with Jack Shore and Scott Malone headlining. Fightful is going to be providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on UFC Fight Pass.
