Report: Vitaly Minakov vs. Javy Ayala Re-Booked For Bellator 232

A heavyweight division attraction has been re-booked for Bellator 232 according to MMA Weekly as Vitaly Minakov is going to be in action against Javy Ayala. The bout between the two was originally set for Bellator 225 this past August, but Ayala withdrew from the card and was replaced by Timothy Johnson.

Minakov (21-1-0) has won just one of two during his second stint with Bellator MMA, with that lone win coming over the aforementioned Johnson at Bellator 225. Minakov is a former Bellator MMA Heavyweight Champion, defeating Alexander Volkov to win the gold at Bellator 108. Minakov is currently in his second run with Bellator MMA, holding an overall record of 5-1-0 in the promotion.

Ayala (11-7-0) has won just one of his last three under the Bellator MMA banner, with that lone win coming over former UFC Heavyweight Champion Frank Mir at Bellator 212. Ayala has competed a total of ten times in Bellator MMA and just one of those bouts went the distance. Ayala has competed a total of eighteen times as a professional MMA fighter and just three of those encounters went to the judges scorecards.

Bellator 232 takes place on Saturday, October 26 from the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut with Rory MacDonald and Douglas Lima headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on DAZN.
