2021 PFL Championship Finals Results, Live Coverage And Discussion

Welcome to Fightful's results, live coverage, and discussion for the 2021 PFL Championship Finals.

We will bring you full live coverage and results for today's main card, taking place inside the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida. Six championship fights will be taking place, with the winner receiving a title and $1 million.

Why Are Casinos So Eager to Be Associated with MMA Competitors?

The main event will feature Kayla Harrison facing Taylor Guardado for the PFL Lightweight Championship. Harrison, the defending champion, beat Mariana Morais, Cindy Dandois, and Genah Fabian to make it to the finals. The two-time Olympic gold medalist faces Guardado, a former Invicta FC star. She beat Helena Kolesnyk, Laura Sanchez, and Mariana Morais (Larissa Pacheco failed to make weight) to advance.

The co-main event will see a rematch from the 2018 PFL welterweight finals as Ray Cooper III faces Magomed Magomedkerimov. Cooper lost to Magomedkerimov via guillotine choke in the finals. He has since won the 2019 PFL Finals and has beaten Jason Ponet, Nikolay Aleksakhin, and Rory MacDonald to make it to the finals this year. Magomedkerimov beat Curtis Millender and Sadibou Sy to make it to the finals.

A premier bout taking place will be Claressa Shields taking on Abigail Montes. Shields, boxing's undisputed light-middleweight champion, won her MMA debut back in June against Brittney Elkin. The two-time Olympic gold medalist faces Montes, who has won two fights in her MMA career.

Fightful will be providing results, highlights, and everything else in-between for the 2021 PFL Championship Finals.
