Bellator 246 Prelims Highlights: Two Rare Finishes And A Split Decision

Bellator 246 picked up where Bellator 245 left off with more controversial strikes and big finishes.

The three-fight preliminary card boasted a technical decision off the heels of an illegal strike to the head, as well as an unusual finish.

Daniel Madrid def. Pat Casey by split decision (28-29, 30-27, 29-28)

The scorecards were all over the place for Madrid vs. Casey, but it was the former that came away with a split decision win.

Ty Gwerder def. Tuco Tokkos by TKO via strikes (1:05, R3)

Gwerder scored an unusual finish over Tokkos at Bellator 246. Gwerder landed a knee that had Tokkos completeley dazed. Tokkos rolled to his back and was asked to stand, after which he stumbled against the cage. The time between the knee and the stoppage was delayed; however, the referee made a good decisive call.

Davion Franklin def. Ras Hylton by technical decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27)

Well, it wasn't a low blow but Bellator's woes continue as another fight ends via illegal strikes. Franklin whooped on Hylton for three rounds; however, things ended prematurely due to an illegal shot to the back of the head. The shot was ruled accidental and so the fight concluded early and went to a technical decision.
