PBC On ESPN Results: Lipinets And Nyambayar Keep Undefeated Records Intact

Sergey Lipinets, former kickboxer from Kazakhstan, routed Walter Castillo by TKO during the 7th round in the main event on Friday night's PBC on ESPN telecast.

The junior welterweight contender started the bout slow, as he has a habit of doing, however found his rhythm around the 4th round and never let Castillo (26-4-1, 19 KO) breathe after that. Lipinets (10-0, 8 KO) tagged his opponent with a hard right in the sixth round that left Castillo on the run for the remainder of the fight.

One round later, another clean right caught Castillo, forcing him against the ropes in an attempt to fend off the blistering shots being thrown his way. The referee stepped in to put a stoppage to the bout at 2:45 of the 7th round.

Also on the event, rising featherweight prospect Tugstsogt Nyambayar (6-0, 6 KO) from Mongolia demolished punching bag Rafael Vazquez with a TKO in the first round. Nyambayar's right hand couldn't miss as he dropped his challenger twice in the first minute. Another 30 seconds in, the 2012 Olympic Silver medalist landed another round of vicious combinations, leading to the ref stopping in as Vasquez was crumbling to the ground for a third time.

Super Bantamweights David Perez and Adan Ortiz put on an exciting show in the swing bout. Perez (7-0, 3 KO) came out blazing with two knockdowns in the first round, however Ortiz (9-2, 8 KO) showed immense heart and resiliency to see the fight through, even winning a couple of middle rounds of the contested 6 round fight. Perez ended up taking the victory on scores of 60-53, 59-54, 58-55.
