Round By Round Recap

Alex Oliveira vs. Tim Means

Round One: The round begins with Means backing up Oliveira with a few kicks, Oliveira goes for the takedown and Means winds up in top position with the half guard. Oliveira wall walks to his face and Means nails him with a knee strike to the face, Oliveira responds by nailing Means with a right hook. Oliveira drops Means with a spinning back kick to the midsection, Means pops back to his feet and Oliveira nails him with a few more strikes. Means goes for a standing kimura as he puts Oliveira against the cage wall, Oliveira scores a takedown on Means and he gets back control. Means gets back to his feet and Oliveira gets standing back control, Means scores a takedown on Oliveira and he gets the half guard. Means attacks Oliveira with a combination as he tries standing, Means then clobbers Oliveira with a series of illegal knee strikes to the head and the referee halts the fight. The doctors say Oliveira cannot continue and the fight is ended.

Official Result: Tim Means fought Alex Oliveira to a no contest via illegal knee strikes (3:33, R1)

Brandon Thatch vs. Niko Price

Round One: The round begins with Thatch catching Price with some leg kicks, Price catches a swinging Thatch with a counter right hook. Thatch cracks Price with a right hook to avoid the takedown attempt, Price starts hitting Thatch with some leg kicks of his own. Thatch cracks Price with a knee strike to the face, Price scores a takedown on Thatch and he gets the open guard. Price transitions to the half guard position and then back to the open guard on Thatch, Thatch looks for a kimura as Price advances to the half guard. Price escapes the kimura and he puts Thatch in the arm triangle choke, Price releases the choke to land some strikes on Thatch. Price transitions to back control on Thatch after a short scramble, Price returns to the half guard on Thatch and he locks in the arm triangle choke to force a submission.

Mike Pyle vs. Alex Garcia

Round One: The round begins with Garcia coming forward and swinging at Pyle, Pyle keeps jabbing at Garcia to keep him at a distance. Garcia levels Pyle with a pair of rights and a kick to the midsection, Garcia scores a takedown on Pyle and he gets the open guard. Garcia transitions to the side control position on Pyle, Garcia starts attacking Pyle with a few elbow strikes to the rib cage. Pyle scrambled at the right time to get the fight standing, Garcia and Pyle exchange a few rights as well. Garcia continues to just take some wild swings against Pyle, Garcia cracks an incoming Pyle with a right and Pyle goes out cold.
