WBA Boxing Results From Panama (2/7): Daniel Matellon, Luis Concepcion, Mayerlin Rivas Win Titles

A number of new champions have been crowned in Panama.

As part of its KO Drugs festival, the WBA has organized a special boxing card in Panama City, Panama with nearly every fight on the card featuring a WBA title on the line. Among the notable fighters that were on the card were contenders Daniel Matello and Luis Concepcion winning interim titles, respectively and Mayerlin Rivas becoming the new women's world champion at 122 pounds.

Below are the full results for the February 7 KO To Drugs card at the Arena Roberto Duran in Panama City, Panama:

  • Daniel Matellon defeated Erik Omar Lopez Garcia by majority decision (116-112, 114-114, 116-112) to win the Interim WBA Light Flyweight title
  • Luis Concepcion defeated Rober Barrera by TKO, round 11, 2:38 to win the Interim WBA Flyweight title
  • Leyman Benavides defeated Carlos Ortega by unanimous decision (117-110, 117-110, 118-109)
  • Mayerlin Rivas defeated Laura Ledezma by unanimous decision (96-94, 98-92, 96-93) to win the WBA Female Super Bantamweight Title
  • Leosdan Nunez defeated Javier Martinez by TKO, round 1, 1:134 to retain the WBA Fedelatin Bantamweight title
  • Rafael Pedroza defeated Jose Perez by KO, round 3, 2:38 to retain the WBA Fedebol Super Bantamweight title
  • Khariton Agrba defeated Flavio Cesar Ramos by RTD, round 3, 3:00 to retain the WBA Fedecaribe Welterweight title
  • Yaditza Perez defeated Nataly Delgado by unanimous decision to retain the WBA Fedelatin Female Flyweight title
  • Pablo Vicente defeated Eder Espitia by TKO, round 4, 2:34 to retain the WBA Fedelatin Super Featherweight title
  • Damian Rodriguez defeated Omir Rodriguez by KO, round 5, 0:34 to win the WBA Fedecentro Junior Middleweight title
  • Bryan De Gracia defeated Freddy Lainez by TKO, round 3, 2:47 to win the WBA Fedecentro Featherweight title
