Rich Franklin To Be Inducted Into UFC Hall Of Fame

A Cincinnati native and legendary UFC Champion is headed for the company's Hall of Fame.

The UFC announced Saturday night at UFC 236 that Rich Franklin would be inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame just under seven years after his last fight.

Before retiring with a 29-7 (1 NC) record, Franklin was a UFC Middleweight Champion and successfully defended the title twice along the way. He holds major wins over Wanderlei Silva, Chuck Liddell, Ken Shamrock, Evan Tanner and numerous others.

Franklin was also an originator of the 195 pound catchweight --a division that the UFC looked like it would end up adopting for a while. A well traveled veteran, Franklin also competed in severn countries across his final five years in MMA.

Franklin joins fellow former UFC Middleweight Champion Michael Bisping as a part of the UFC Hall of Fame 2019 class. They'll be inducted on July 5 as a part of UFC's International Fight Week in Las Vegas, Nevada.
