Another day, another gold medal boxing match is in the books. This time, it was Hasanboy Dusmatov of Uzbekistan defeating Yurbejen Martínez of Colombia to win his first gold medal in the light flyweight division. Both men were fighting to become the first gold medalist in this division for their country. Dusmatov outclassed his opponent, was elusive, outlanded Martínez, and won every round. Martínez, on the other hand, was one of the best stories of the Olympics for boxing. He knocked off Joahnys Argilagos of Cuba, the gold medal favorite, and has given Colombia its first ever silver medal in boxing.
Another gold medal match is set in the lightweight division. It will be Brazil's Robson Conceiçāo vs Sofiane Oumiha of France. Only four other Brazilians have ever won a medal in boxing, but none of them have ever won the gold. Expect a large crowd for Conceiçāo's gold medal match and an entertaining fight.
