Ronda Rousey To Executive Produce MMA Drama Series ‘Brawlers’

A new gig for Ronda Rousey.

Deadline reports that Ronda Rousey will serve as the executive producer for MMA drama series titled “Brawlers.”

Harold Perrineau will play the lead.

Details of the story are scarce, but it will be set in Los Angeles and feature the amateur MMA scene. Jonathan Fernandez will direct from his own script.

“Brawlers” has been awarded the California tax incentive and will shoot on location in LA.

Rousey is a pioneer of women’s MMA and one of the biggest stars, male or female, in MMA history. She retired in May after defeating Gina Carano in the first MMA event to air on Netflix. The event peaked with 17 million viewers for the main event fight, which lasted 17 seconds.

Ronda Rousey has acting experience as well, appearing in the “Fast & Furious” franchise.
