It was revealed earlier this month by USADA and reported here on Fightful that Ruslan Magomedov, who is currently a part of the UFC Heavyweight division, was notified of a potential USADA violation.
The UFC was the first to issue a statement on the situation.
“The UFC organization was notified that the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) has informed Ruslan Magomedov of a potential Anti-Doping Policy violation stemming from an out-of-competition sample collection made on September 7, 2016…USADA, the independent administrator of the UFC Anti-Doping Policy, will handle the results management and appropriate adjudication of this case. It is important to note that, under the UFC Anti-Doping Policy, there is a full and fair review process that is afforded to all athletes before any sanctions are imposed. Additional information will be provided at the appropriate time as the process moves forward” said a UFC representative.
Ruslan would then issue a statement of his own. the statement was given to a Russian website known as Tass.ru, where Magomedov pledges to take care of the situation.
"I have found banned substances, which were in the dietary supplement. It will be dealt with in the coming days. All will know” said Magomedov.
Magomedov is currently riding a winning streak that has been active since 2011 and until the potential drug test failure is resolved by Magomedov, USADA and the UFC, he will be remain sidelined.
