Golden Boy Promotions' upcoming March 30 DAZN show has been announced with Ryan Garcia set to headline.
DAZN announced a card at the Fantasy Springs Resort Casino in Indio, California with Garcia taking on Jose "Wonder Boy" Lopez in a 10-round lightweight main event. In the co-main event, WBO light flyweight champion will defend his world title against Ganigan Lopez.
Garcia, a contender who has fought at both super featherweight and lightweight, has won all 17 of his pro bouts, turning into one of Golden Boy Promotions' top rising stars. Garcia last fought on the undercard of Canelo Alvarez's WBA "Regular" super middleweight title win over Rocky Fielding, defeating Braulio Rodriguez last December. The fight against Rodriguez was the first one Garcia had under the tutelage of Eddy Reynoso as his head trainer.
Lopez, a 24-year-old from Puerto Rico, has a 20-3-1 pro record since making his debut in 2011. Lopez has previously won the WBC FECARBOX super bantamweight and WBO International super featherweight, but has lost two of his last three fights.
Acosta won the WBO title back in December 2017 by knocking out Juan Alejo. Acosta would defend his title twice in 2018: once against Carlos Buitrago in June in Puerto Rico and once against Abraham Rodriguez this past October, both of which ended inside the distance.
Lopez previously held the WBC light flyweight title from 2016 to 2017. Lopez won the title with a majority decision over Yu Kimura and made one successful title defense before losing the belt to Ken Shiro. The 37-year-old Lopez unsuccessfully challenged for the WBC belt last year when he was knocked out by Shiro in the second round of their rematch.
