Ryosuke Iwasa To Face Cesar Juarez On February 16

Former world champion Ryosuke Iwasa is coming to the United States for his first fight since losing his title last August.

It was announced that Iwasa will face former title challenger Cesar Juarez on the undercard of the February 16 PBC card from Los Angeles.

Iwasa returns to the ring since losing his IBF super bantamweight title to TJ Doheny in Japan last year. The fight will mark Iwasa's second pro fight outside of Japan and first in the United States.

Juarez is currently riding a three-fight win streak since losing to Isaac Dogboe with the interim WBO super bantamweight title on line. After that loss, Juarez knocked out his next two opponents and then won a unanimous decision against Jorge Sanchez last September.

The card will be headlined by Leo Santa Cruz vs. Rafael Rivera for the WBA "Super" featherweight title and it will be televised on Fox. It was previously announced that two other fights -- Omar Figueroa vs. John Molina Jr. and Sebastian Fondura vs. Donnie Marshall -- will be televised on Fox. Although no FS1 prelim card was announced, the network has done prelims on its two PBC shows in 2019 thus far.

Another fight taking place on the card that is being listed on Boxrec is Carlos Licona vs. DeeJay Kriel for the IBF minimumweight title. Licona will be defending his title for the first time since winning the belt in December when he defeat Mark Anthony Barriga.
