Santiago Ponzinibbio is back in action this weekend at UFC Fight Night Sao Paulo, headlining the card against Neil Magny.

The welterweight contender doesn’t just want to win on Saturday Night, but he wants to kill Magny as well.

“He’s tough, but I kill him,” Ponzinibbio said to MMA Fighting. “I finish him. I’m really excited for the fight.”

Ponzinibbio also stated that he originally wanted to fight former UFC Lightweight Champion Rafael Dos Anjos at the event, but RDA turned the opportunity down.

RDA apparently had some excuses as to why he isn’t fighting Ponzinibbio, but Ponzinibbio isn’t buying any of that. Those excuses, according to MMA Junkie were the impending birth of his child and the long distance travel the fight would entail.

“This is not a real excuse, this is a stupid excuse,” Ponzinibbio said. “It’s stupid. I don’t know, man. I don’t know what the UFC said to RDA about taking the fight. But the excuse of RDA is ridiculous.”

UFC Fight Night Sao Paulo takes place on Saturday, September 22 from the Ibirapueroa Gymnasium in Sao Paulo, Brazil with Santiago Ponzinibbio headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on Fox Sports 1.
