Sean Strickland Suspended For Six Months, Fined $5,000 For Attacking Fighter At Tuff-N-Uff MMA Event

Strickland receives his punishment.

The Nevada State Athletic Commission suspended Sean Strickland for his actions at a Tuff-N-Uff MMA event in June. He rushed into the cage and attacked a fighter.

The incident came about after Luis Hernandez choked out Miles Hunsinger in the second round. Hernandez proceeded to taunt Hunsinger’s cornermen, two of whom were Sean Strickland and fellow UFC fighter Chris Curtis. Both rushed into the cage, and Strickland began throwing punches.

There’s an update from the Nevada Athletic Commission (via MMAFighting) about Strickland’s status. He has been fined $5,000 and suspended for six months. The decision was made on 8/21. His suspension ends on December 29th, but he can have that brought down to October if he completes an anger management course that is approved by the commission.

Nevada Athletic Commission Chairman Dallas Haun gave Strickland credit for making the process easy and taking ownership of his actions and behavior.

Strickland will also pay $157.04 for attorney fees related to his suspension. Chris Curtis was fined $2,500 for his role in the dust-up. Curtis is not being suspended, but he must pay the same attorney fees that Strickland is paying, and he will receive a formal letter about his actions.
