Second Title Fight Added To Bellator 180 PPV

The Bellator MMA Lightweight Title will be defended at Bellator 180 as champion Michael Chandler will be facing challenger Brent Primus.

Chandler (16-3-0) will be making the second defense of his championship, last defending it against former UFC Lightweight Champion Ben Henderson at Bellator 165. Chandler will actually be entering the fight riding a four fight winning streak and he hasn’t suffered a defeat in over two years. Chandler has been a part of the Bellator MMA roster for nearly seven years and he has earned a total of 15 wins in the promotion.

Primus (7-0-0) has already earned five victories under the Bellator MMA banner, with some notable wins coming over Chris Jones, Derek Anderson and Gleristone Santos. Primus has only seen two of his seven professional MMA fights go the distance, the rest of the fights ended within the opening round. Primus has only competed one time in the last year, which was the win over the aforementioned Gleristone Santos at Bellator 153.

Bellator 180 takes place on Saturday, June 24 from Madison Square Garden in New York, New York with Chael Sonnen and Wanderlei Silva headlining, Fightful will be providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
