A welterweight division attraction has been added to the upcoming Cage Warriors 89 card as UFC veteran John Maguire faces Tommy Depret.
Maguire (24-9-0) is the second UFC veteran on the CWFC 89 card, the other is one fight UFC veteran Cindy Dandois. Maguire also returns to the Cage Warriors promotion for the first time in three years and his last fight there was a loss to Damir Hadzovic at CWFC 66. Maguire won just one of four fights during his UFC tenure and that lone win came over DaMarques Johnson at UFC On Fuel TV 2.
Depret (12-5-0) is going to be making his Cage Warriors debut in this fight and he does so on the strength of a two fight winning streak. Depret also returns to action for the first time in well over two years, with his last fight being against Pieter Buist at Staredown 9 in 2015. Depret has also challenged for the Shooto Brazil Welterweight Title, losing to Hernani Perpetuo at Shooto Brazil 42.
Cage Warriors 89 takes place on Saturday, November 25 from the Lotto Arena in Antwerp, Belgium with Karl Moore and Mauro Cerilli headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on UFC Fight Pass.
