Several IBF Purse Bids Canceled And Postponed

The IBF made several changes to purse bids pertaining to four different world titles.

According to ESPN, a purse bid ordered for the vacant IBF title between Ivan Baranchyk and Anthony Yigit has been canceled. No specifics on the deal reached between the two boxers were made available, but it is most likely going to take place in the quarterfinal round of the World Boxing Super Series 140-pound tournament set to be formally announced soon. The title was vacated by Mikey Garcia shortly after defeating former champion Sergey Lipinets back in March.

Another canceled purse bid is the bantamweight final eliminator between Jason Moloney and Kenny Demecillo. The two sides have reached a deal, but no further specifics were announced. The winner between the two boxers will be the mandatory challenger to Emmanuel Rodriguez's title that was recently won. The new mandatory challenger will have to wait a while before getting a shot at the title as Rodriguez will be taking place in the World Boxing Super Series bantamweight tournament that will begin later this year.

As far as other purse bid news for the IBF, two bids have been postponed. The first is the IBF light heavyweight title fight between Artur Beterbiev and mandatory challenger Callum Johnson. The bid will take place on June 26 if both sides are unable to come to terms to a deal 15 minutes before it begins.

The other purse bid that was postponed is a final eliminator between Julian Williams and Takeshi Inoue for Jarrett Hurd's IBF junior middleweight title. That purse bid has also been delayed until June 26 and like with the Beterbiev vs. Johnson bid, both sides have until 15 minutes before the bids are unsealed to agree to a deal. The winner will be waiting for Hurd to recover from surgery for a slightly torn rotator cuff suffered before a unification bout against Erislandy Lara.
