Former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Mauricio ?Shogun? Rua suffered a brutal first round knockout loss to Anthony Smith in the main event of UFC Fight Night Hamburg.
The loss snapped a three fight winning streak for Rua, which was the longest such streak the fighter had during his UFC run.
Rua has since taken to Instagram to issue a statement on this latest defeat:
A struggling Rua has earned a 9-9-0 record during his decade-plus tenure in the UFC, with the legendary fighters biggest win coming at UFC 113, when the PRIDE alum defeated Lyoto Machida to win the UFC Light Heavyweight Title.
