Showtime To Stream Two Fights Before February 9 TV Card

Before Gervonta Davis and Hugo Ruiz get to fight for the WBA super featherweight title on Showtime, the network will stream a couple of undercard fights on its social media platforms.

Showtime announced that two fights -- Erickson Lubin vs. Ishe Smith and Juan Heraldez vs. Eddie Ramirez -- will be streamed on its Facebook and YouTube platforms on February 9.

Lubin will be fighting for the second time since getting knocked out by Jermell Charlo in the first round of their WBC junior middleweight title fight in 2017. The 23-year-old Lubin is coming off a TKO win over Silverio Ortiz in April 2018.

Smith won world title gold in 2013 when he defeated Cornelius Bundrage to win the IBF junior middleweight title. Smith lost the title to Carlos Molina later that year and would go on to have a 4-4 record in fights since then. The 40-year-old Smith is on a two-fight losing streak, suffering decision losses to Tony Harrison and Julian Williams.

Heraldez is a rising prospect who has won all 15 of his pro fights. Heraldez will take on Ramirez, another prospect who is on a two-fight losing streak after winning his first 17 bouts as a pro.

The undercard stream is scheduled to start at 8 p.m. ET with the televised portion of the card set to begin at 10 p.m. ET. The main event of the Showtime TV card from Carson, California is Davis vs. Ruiz for the WBA's "Super" version of the 130-pound world title. The two undercard fights going right before the main event are Javier Fortuna vs. Sharif Bogere in a 10-round lightweight bout and Mario Barrios vs. Richard Zamora in a 10-round junior welterweight matchup.
