Spike Carlyle is quickly becoming one of the most exciting fighters to watch in the UFC, but there may be some outside the Octagon issues to keep an eye on.
A Twitter user by the name of Alex Scaffidi recently showed some screen captures of some antisemitic social media posts by the UFC fighter:
Carlyle would receive a lot of backlash for posting the antisemitic images on social media and he would issue the following statement to Bloody Elbow, apologizing for his actions:
?I?m Anti-Zionist, Freemasonry, and Jesuitism. I didn?t read the ?[F?k] Israel? hashtags. I?m not an anti-Semite and have Jewish blood in me. I am pro-Israel especially since they are necessary for end times bible prophecy.?
The fighter would also take to Instagram to post the following apology (via Bloody Elbow):
?My deepest apologies for my earlier story post. Upon further review I noticed it was linked to an anti Semitic hashtags [sic]. I in no way want to cause or spread division or prejudice. My intentions are quite the opposite. I want all people to come together Through Christ Jesus and be united as God?s children. I love my fans, my family, and all my Jewish brothers. I am against the New World Order and that was the intention behind the post. I promise to be more mindful going forward on what I share. Much #revelation2:9 #fsatan?
There has been no further statements from Carlyle, while the UFC has yet to release one on their fighter?s antisemitic post.
