A women’s strawweight division fight is a late addition to next month’s UFC 210 card as Cynthia Calvillo will be seeing action against Pearl Gonzlez.
Calvillo (4-0-0) just made her UFC debut earlier this month at UFC 209, where she defeated TUF alumni Amanda Bobby Cooper by first round submission. Calvillo also competed in the first ever Legacy Fighting Alliance event, defeating Montana Stewart by third round TKO. Calvillo also earned a total of five wins as an amateur MMA fighter, including a victory over Invicta Fighting Championships veteran Aspen Ladd.
Pearl Gonzalez (6-1-0) will be making her UFC debut in this fight and she will be doing so on the strength of a six fight winning streak. Gonzalez also holds a victory over current UFC fighter Cortney Casey, a victory she earned by third round submission at Xtreme Fighting Championships 26. Gonzalez also won seven of her eight fights as an amateur, with only one of those eight fights going past the opening round.
UFC 210 takes place on Saturday, April 8 from the KeyBank Center in Buffalo, New York with Daniel Cormier and Anthony Johnson headlining. Fightful will be providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
