The One Championship Strawweight Title is going to be defended in the main event of One Championship 87 as Joshua Pacio defends the gold against Hayato Suzuki.
Pacio (13-2-0) is going to be making the first defense of his championship, having won it by defeating Yoshitaka Naito by unanimous decision at One Championship: Conquest Of Heroes. Pacio enters the contest on the strength of a four fight winning streak and he hasn’t suffered a defeat in over a year. Pacio has suffered two defeats as a professional MMA fighter and both of them have come by way of submission.
Suzuki (20-1-2) won the first encounter between himself and Pacio at One Championship: Kings & Conquers, with that victory coming by first round submission. Suzuki hasn’t had a fight go the distance in over four years and he has won five of six bouts that have gone to the judges scorecards. Suzuki has suffered just a single defeat as a professional MMA fighter and that came against Alex Silva at One Championship: Legends Of The World.
One Championship 87 takes place on Saturday, January 19 from the Istora Senayan in Jakarta, Indonesia with Joshua Pacio and Alex Silva headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, while broadcast plans have yet to be announced.
