A lightweight division attraction has been added to UFC Fight Night: Japan as Takanori Gomi is looking for the home country win against Dong Hyun Kim.

Gomi (35-13-0-1NC) enters the fight riding a four fight losing streak and he hasn’t earned a victory in over three years. Gomi’s last win in the UFC came at UFC 172 in April of 2014, which is where he got the decision win over Isaac Vallie-Flagg. Gomi is also competing in Japan for the first time in three years, as his last appearance in the country came at UFC Fight Night 52 in September of 2014.

Kim (14-8-3) has won just one of three fights under the UFC banner, with that lone win coming over Brendan O’Reilly at the UFC Ultimate Fighter 24 Finale. Kim also went undefeated during his time in the Top FC promotion, where he defeated the duo of Jung Min Kang and Toshikatsu Harada. Kim is also competing for the first time in nine months, which is the longest gap in between fights since kim signed with the UFC in 2015.

UFC Fight Night: Japan takes place on Saturday, September 22 from the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan with Mauricio Rua and Ovince St. Preux headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on FXX.
