Tecia Torres Steps In At TUF 25 Finale

Tecia Torres has agreed to step in on short notice to fight Juliana Lima at the UFC Ultimate Fighter 25 Finale. Torres is replacing Amanda Ribas, who was recently pulled from the fight due to a potential USADA violation.

Torres (8-1-0) has won four of five fights under the UFC banner, having defeated Angela Magana, Angela Hill, Jocelyn Jones-Lybarger and Bec Rawlings. Torres was also a cast member on the UFC Ultimate Fighter 20, losing to eventual season winner Carla Esparza in the quarterfinals of the reality show. Torres has fought nine times as a professional MMA fighter and all nine of her fights have gone the distance.

Lima (9-3-0) has won three of five fights in the UFC, with those three wins coming over Nina Ansaroff, Ericka Almeida and JJ Aldrich. Lima’s only two defeats in the UFC came to Carla Esparza and Joanna Jedrzejczyk, who are the only two women to hold the UFC Women’s Strawweight Title. Lima also competed once in the Invicta Fighting Championships, dropping a fight to Katja Kankaanpaa at Invicta FC 5.

UFC Ultimate Fighter 25 Finale takes place on Friday, July 7 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada with Justin Gaethje and Michael Johnson headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on Fox Sports 1.
