Terrence Crawford and Danny Garcia have engaged in a Twitter war that seems to hint that perhaps the two of them will fight at some time in the future. .

Crawford (29-0, 20 KO), the current unified WBC, WBO, Ring magazine and lineal light welterweight champion, challenged Garcia (32-0, 18 KO), the current WBC welterweight champion, to a fight, offering to move up in weight to fight Garcia.

When Garcia was the WBC super-lightweight champion, he paid mandatory challenger Viktor Postol a step-aside fee and the pair never fought. Postol then picked up the vacant title when he beat Lucas Matthysse after Garcia moved to welterweight, where he also won the WBC title. Garcia’s father, Angel Garcia, recently referred to Crawford as a ‘paper champion,’ sparking an enraged response from the unbeaten Omaha native.

Crawford fired the first virtual salvo to Garcia, saying that he beat the guy, Postol, that Garcia "was scared to fight." Crawford then offered to move up in weight to make the fight a reality. Garcia then opened the door for Crawford, telling him to have Crawford’s promoter Bob Arum to contact Al Haymon, who handles Garcia.

Crawford ultimately ended the Twitter war by saying "no problem."
