The two welterweights will compete for Crawford's WBO world title in the main event of the December 14 Top Rank on ESPN card from the famous venue in New York City. This will be Crawford's third welterweight title defense as Kavaliauskas will look to win his first title. The co-main event will see Richard Commey defend his IBF lightweight title against fast-rising star Teofimo Lopez and both fighters were also able to make weight.
