Three Officers Injured, 15 People Arrested Following Brawl At MMA Event

A brawl at an MMA event led to multiple arrests.

There was a brawl involving about 100 people at a 559 Fights MMA event at the Visalia Convention Center in Visalia, California, per the Fresno Bee. The event had to be stopped as a result.

The officers who were already in attendance requested backup because fights were breaking out.

At least 26 Visalia police officers responded, and joining in to assist were deputies from the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office and officers from the Farmersville and Exeter police departments. Three of the Visalia officers suffered minor injuries, but are expected to be OK.

15 people were arrested and were booked into the Tulare County Adult Pre-Trial Detention Facility.

559 Fights issued the following:

“For more than 15 years and over 100 events, we have maintained a strong record of providing a safe environment for our fighters, coaches, staff and fans. Safety has always been — and will remain — one of our highest priorities. This behavior does not represent 559 Fights, our athletes, or the overwhelming majority of our fans.”
