Titan FC CEO Lex McMahon may be one of the best promoters on the regional MMA scene, but he will try his hand as a professional MMA fighting in November.

That’s because McMahon will face Justin Thornton in the main event of Fighting Force 4 on November 21.

“Why does the old man want to get his ass whooped and get after it?” McMahon said at Titan FC 64 (via Dave Doyle of MMA Junkie). ”For 12 years, I’ve been asking these fighters to go in and fight so I can make money and my partner can make money.”

Thornton has a 6-14-0 record as a professional MMA fighter but has competed against top names like Walt Harris, Chase Sherman and Austen Lane. McMahon says it would’ve been a bit unauthentic if he never tried his hand in a professional MMA fight.

“It feels a bit inauthentic and disingenuous to not have done this,” McMahon said. “All these feelings, all these emotions, hard work, pain and suffering, I’m gonna go through it. I’ve been going through it quietly behind the scenes.”

Fighting Force 4 takes place on Saturday, November 21 from a location to be announced in the Dominican Republic with Lex McMahon and Justin Thornton headlining.
