Title Fight Headlining CES MMA 44


The CES MMA Featherweight Title will be defended in the main event of CES MMA 44, as champion Matt Bessette will be defending the gold against Jeremy Spoon.

Bessette (21-7-0) will be making the second defense at the event, as he first defended it against Kevin Croom at CES MMA 41. Bessette won the title back at CES MMA 37 in August 2016, when he defeated Joe Pingitore by second round submission. Bessette will be entering the fight riding a six fight winning streak, which also includes wins under the Bellator MMA banner.

Spoon (20-3-0) will be making his CES MMA debut in this fight and he will be doing so on the strength of a four fight winning streak. Spoon is also a former Sugar Creek Showdown Featherweight Champion, King Of The Cage Featherweight Champion and a Big Dog Promotions Featherweight Champion. Spoon will also be competing in his first main event fight in over two years, as his last main event fight came at Sugar Creek Showdown 25.

CES MMA 44 takes place on Friday, May 12 from the Twin River Casino in Lincoln, Rhode Island with Matt Bessette and Jeremy Spoon headlining. The event will also be airing live on AXS TV.
