Tito Ortiz’s Win Over Alberto Del Rio Changed To A No Decision

MMA

Former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Tito Ortiz scored a first round submission victory over former WWE star Alberto Del Rio in the main event of Combate Americas: Tito vs. Ortiz

However, it appears that the victory isn’t one any longer for the former UFC star, as the Texas Department Of Licensing & Regulation (TLDR) has overturned the result of the bout to a no decision.

“The results of the fight were changed pending further investigation,” TDLR public information officer Tela Mange told MMA Junkie.

No reason has been given yet by the TLDR as to why the result of the bout was changed to a no decision and Combate Americas officials were notified of the ruling earlier this week.

Since it was Ortiz’s win that has been overturned, it most likely means that if something was found wrong by the TLDR, it would likely come from Ortiz’s side. There has been no comment from a Combate Americas official, Ortiz or Del Rio at this time and it is unknown if statements are forthcoming.

It should be noted that Ortiz’s victory could be reinstated if the TLDR finds nothing wrong in their investigation.
