A battle of top 10 bantamweights is taking place at UFC On Fox 25 as #5 Jimmie Rivera is in action against #9 Thomas Almeida.
Rivera (20-1-0) has already earned four wins under the UFC banner, those four victories have come over Marcus Brimage, Pedro Munhoz, Iuri Alcantara and Urijah Faber. Rivera also competed twice in Bellator MMA, having defeated the duo of Jesse Brock and Brian Kelleher. Rivera is also a former King Of The Cage Bantamweight Champion, defeating Jared Papazian to win the gold in February 2011.
Almeida (21-1-0) has won five of six fights under the UFC banner, with those wins coming over Tim Gorman, Yves Jabouin, Brad Pickett, Anthony Birchak and Albert Morales. Almeida has only suffered a single defeat as a professional MMA fighter, that loss came to current UFC Bantamweight Champion Cody Garbrandt at UFC Fight Night 88. Almeida is also a former MMA Super Heroes Bantamweight Champion, defeating Vinicius Zani to win the championship in March 2014.
