A bantamweight division affair is a late addition to the upcoming UFC 212 card as #13 Iuri Alcantara is in action against Brian Kelleher.
Alcantara (34-7-1NC) will enter the fight riding a two fight winning streak, defeating the duo of Luke Sanders and Brad Pickett. Alcantara is competing in his native Brazil for the first time in almost two years, with his last appearance in the country coming at UFC 190 in August 2015. Alcantara will also be competing on his third straight pay-per-view in the UFC, the longest such streak during his UFC tenure.
Kelleher (16-7-0) is going to be making his UFC debut in this fight and he’s doing so while riding a six fight winning streak. Kelleher has only fought one UFC fighter before in his 23 fight professional MMA career, which was a loss to Jimmie Rivera at Bellator 95. Kelleher hasn’t suffered a defeat in almost three years, which includes wins in Ring Of Combat and CES MMA.
UFC 212 takes place on Saturday, June 3 from the HSBC Arena in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil with Jose Aldo and Max Holloway headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
