A lightweight division attraction is the first addition to the UFC 216 card as #11 Beneil Dariush is going to be in action against #12 Evan Dunham.
Dariush (14-3-0) has won two of his last three fights under the UFC banner, having defeated the duo of James Vick and Rashid Magomedov. Dariush has also suffered all three of his professional MMA defeats in the UFC, those losses come to Ramsey Nijem, Michael Chiesa and Edson Barboza. Dariush is going to be competing on a pay-per-view card for the first time in over a year, as his last pay-per-view appearance came at UFC 199.
Dunham (18-6-0) is going to enter this fight on the strength of a four fight winning streak, having defeated Rodrigo Damm, Ross Pearson, Joe Lauzon and Rick Glenn. Dunham hasn’t suffered a defeat in well over three years, with his last defeat coming to Edson Barboza at UFC Fight Night 45. Dunham is also going to be competing for the first time in over a year, as his last bout was a win over Rick Glenn at UFC Fight Night 94.
