A bantamweight division attraction is the latest addition to next month’s UFC Fight Night Sao Paulo card as #5 John Lineker is competing against Marlon Vera.
Combate was the first to break the story.
Lineker (29-8-0) has won six of his last seven fights under the UFC banner, with that lone loss coming to former UFC Bantamweight Champion TJ Dillashaw at UFC 207. During that six fight winning streak, the bantamweight earned notable wins over Ian McCall, Rob Font, Michael McDonald and John Dodson. Lineker is competing for the first time in almost a year, as his bout with Dillashaw at UFC 207 took place in December of last year.
Vera (10-3-1) enters the fight on the strength of a three fight winning streak, defeating the trio of Guangyou Ning, Brad Pickett and Brian Kelleher. Vera is going to be competing for the third time in 2017, which is the most active he has been since signing with the UFC. Vera competed on the UFC Ultimate Fighter Latin America 1, but he got injured after advancing to the semi-finals.
UFC Fight Night Sao Paulo takes place on Saturday, October 28 from the Ibirapuera Gymnasium in Sao Paulo, Brazil with Lyoto Machida and Derek Brunson headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on Fox Sports 1.
