Top Rank, Boxing World Reacts To Maxim Dadashev's Death

Maxim Dadashev's death has the entire sport of boxing in mourning over the loss of a young fighter.

The 28-year-old passed away in the morning of July 23 after spending days in a medically induced coma following surgery for a subdural hematoma. The fighter sustained injuries from a fight against Subriel Matias on July 19 in Oxon Hill, Maryland. The fight was stopped by Dadashev's trainer Buddy McGirt after the 11th round in order to protect his fighter and Dadashev was sent to a hospital where he underwent surgery.

Top Rank released the following statement on Dadashev's passing. 

Top Rank is devastated to report that Maxim Dadashev passed away earlier this morning due to injuries sustained during last Friday's bout. Maxim was a talented fighter inside the ring and a loving husband and father outside the ropes. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.

Said Top Rank Chairman Bob Arum: ?Maxim was a terrific young man. We are all saddened and affected by his untimely death.?
