A bantamweight division attraction has been added to the UFC Fight Night: Mexico City card as Alejandro Perez is in action against Andre Soukhamthath.

Perez (17-6-1) was the winner of the UFC Ultimate Fighter: Latin America 1, defeating Jose Alberto Quinonez in the finals at UFC 180. Perez has won two of four fights since winning TUF Latin America 1, with those victories coming over the duo of Scott Jorgensen and Ian Entwistle. Perez is also competing for the first time in almost a year, as his last bout was a majority draw against Albert Morales at UFC Fight Night 94.

Soukhamthath (11-4-0) is currently winless under the UFC banner, dropping a split decision to Albert Morales at UFC 209. Soukhamthath is the former CES MMA Bantamweight Champion, but he relinquished the gold when he signed with the UFC earlier this year. Soukhamthath has spent the majority of his professional MMA career in the CES MMA promotion, with only two of his fifteen fights as a pro happening outside of the promotion.

UFC Fight Night: Mexico City takes place on Saturday, August 5 from the Mexico City Arena in Mexico City, Mexico with Sergio Pettis and Brandon Moreno headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on Fox Sports 1.
