Two Fights Added To Bellator 172, Cheick Kongo Booked

Two more fights have been added to next month’s Bellator 172 card as Cheick Kongo faces Oli Thompson and Adam Piccolotti faces Brent Primus.

Kongo (25-10-2) will enter the fight riding a three fight winning streak, defeating Alexander Volkov, Vinicius Queiroz and Tony Johnson. Kongo has previously challenged for the Bellator MMA Heavyweight Title, but he lost to then champion Vitaly Minakov at Bellator 115.

Thompson (12-9-0) is currently winless in Bellator MMA competition, dropping a fight to Matt Mitrione at Bellator 158. Thompson did fight twice under the UFC banner, dropping fights to the duo of Shawn Jordan and Philip De Fries.

Piccolotti (9-0-0) has already won five fights in Bellator MMA, defeating Andrew Ramm, Salvador Becerra, Mario Soto, Ray Wood and Brandon Girtz. Piccolotti is a former Dragon House MMA Lightweight Champion, he defeated Tristan Arenal to win the belt in 2014.

Primus (7-0-0) has also won five fights in Bellator MMA, with his wins coming over Scotty Thometz, Brett Glass, Chris Jones, Derek Anderson and Toninho Furia. Primus held a championship as an amateur, as he held the Emerald City Fight Night Lightweight Title in 2009.

Bellator 172 takes place on Saturday, February 18 from the SAP Center in San Jose, California with Fedor Emelianenko and Matt Mitrione headlining.
