A light heavyweight division attraction is the latest addition to UFC On Fox 23 as Luis Henrique Da Silva does battle against Jordan Johnson.
Da Silva (12-1-0) is looking to rebound from his first professional MMA defeat, which came at the hands of Paul Craig by second round submission at UFC on Fox 22. Da Silva has also earned two victories under the UFC banner, with those wins coming over the duo of Jonathan Wilson and Joachim Christensen. Da Silva has yet to see any of his professional MMA fights go past the second round, he also fought a total of four times in 2016.
Johnson (6-0-0) will be making his UFC debut in this fight and he is also a former Resurrection Fighting Alliance Light Heavyweight Champion. Johnson is also a former Duel For Domination Light Heavyweight Champion, he won the belt in his professional MMA debut. Johnson has only seen one of his six pro MMA fights go to a decision, that fight was a bout against LaMarcus Tucker at RFA 46.
A featherweight division attraction has been added to the card and will pit Alex Caceres up against Jason Knight.
Caceres (13-10-0) has won two of his last three fights under the UFC banner, defeating Masio Fullen and Cole Miller, while suffering that lone defeat to Yair Rodriguez. Caceres was a cast member on the UFC Ultimate Fighter 12, he made it to the quarterfinals before losing to Michael Johnson. Caceres has spent the last six-plus years competing in the UFC, earning a record of 7-7-0-1NC in the promotion.
Knight (14-2-0) has already won two of three fights in UFC competition, defeating the duo of Jim Alers and Daniel Hooker, while suffering a lone defeat to Tatsuya Kawajiri. Knight is a former Atlas Fights Featherweight Champion, he defeated Shawn Hayes to win the championship in 2012. Knight’s busiest year as a fighter came in 2014, where he fought a total of five times and earned a grand total of five victories.
UFC On Fox 23 takes place on Saturday, January 28 from the Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado with Juliana Pena and Valentina Shevchenko headlining, the main card will be airing on Fox.
