Tyron Woodley & Darren Till Tired Of Discussing The Latter’s Weight Issues

MMA

UFC Welterweight Champion Tyron Woodley is defending the gold against Darren Till this Saturday Night at UFC 228.

The challenger has had weight issues in the past, but the champion is tired of talking about that.

“I don’t really care,” Woodley said at the UFC 228 open workouts. “I can’t make him make weight. I can’t make him miss weight. I can’t control this man’s weight. I’m tired of answering questions for his weight. He’s the one that missed weight. He should answer questions about his own weight. People should want to know what I’m doing, how I’m ready, what I’m going to do different, what you guys expect to see from me (Saturday), why do I think I’m better than this young buck. That’s what I want to focus on. Because, at the end of the day, I’m the one that’s the professional. When have you seen the scale tip over 170 on my scale?”

A major criticism of the title fight was that Till got the title shot even after missing weight in his last bout at UFC Fight Night Liverpool.

Till is so tired of the topic that the fighter has promised to slap anybody who asked him about the weight issues after UFC 228.

“I’ve put my life into this, so speed bumps along the way,” Till said at the UFC 228 open workouts. “Not making weight, you get all this attention for it. It’s like you’re the only fighter who’s missed weight in the division, in the whole of the UFC. … It’s a mistake on my part, but Friday all the talk will be done. No mother f*cker can ask me about weight again — he’s getting slapped.”

UFC 228 takes place on Saturday, September 8 from the American Airlines Arena in Dallas, Texas with Tyron Woodley and Darren Till headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
