UFC 226 Early PPV Numbers Are In, Plus UFC Ultimate Fighter 27 Finale & UFC 226 Prelims TV Ratings

This past weekend saw a huge offering from the UFC in the form of UFC 226 and the UFC Ultimate Fighter 27 Finale.

The big show was UFC 226, which was headlined by a heavyweight title bout that saw UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier defeat Stipe Miocic to win the UFC Heavyweight Championship.

Although an exact number has yet to be revealed, a report from MMA Fighting is saying that the UFC 226 pay-per-view drew a low buy rate. The UFC isn?t a publicly traded company, so they are not required to release their pay-per-view numbers to the general public.

A four fight preliminary card also aired live on Fox Sports 1, with the featured bout seeing Paulo Costa defeat TUF alumni Uriah Hall. That preliminary card brought in a total of 668,000 viewers, while streaming services Fox Sports Go and Fox Now brought in an additional 15,685 viewers.

There was a pre-fight show on Fox Sports 1 and that brought in 254,000 viewers, while the post-fight show on Fox Sports 1 captured the attention of 155,000 people. The weigh-ins also aired live on Fox Sports 1, bringing in a total of 239,000 viewers.

A day before UFC 226 was the UFC Ultimate Fighter 27 Finale and the show headlined by Israel Adesanya defeating Brad Tavares by decision brought in 499,000 viewers for the six fight main card. There was a four fight preliminary card that also aired on Fox Sports 1, bringing in an additional 493,000 viewers.

Up next for the UFC is UFC Fight Night Boise, which airs a six fight main card and a four fight preliminary card this Saturday Night on Fox Sports 1. Bellator MMA also returns with two cards this weekend in the form of Bellator 202 and Bellator 203, with Bellator 202 airing live on the Paramount Network on Friday Night and Bellator 203 airing via tape delay the next night on the Paramount Network.
