UFC 226: Miocic vs. Cormier Gate, Attendance, and Bonus Information

MMA

Another International Fight Week is in the books for the UFC. Headlined by the heavyweight Superfight between Daniel Cormier and Stipe Miocic, UFC 226 drew 17,500 for a gate of $5.7 million. UFC 226 took place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada

UFC 213 drew 12,834 fans for a $2.4 million gate at last year's International Fight Week at the same venue. UFC 200 (18,202 fans, $10.7 million gate) still holds the record for largest attendance and gate for an International Fight Week event.

Instead of a Fight of the Night bonus, the company handed out four Performance of the Night bonuses.

Along with claiming his second title, Cormier walked away with an extra $50,000 for his first round knockout of Miocic in the main events. This is Cormier's second straight Performance of the Night bonus. Anthony Pettis grabbed his fifth Performance of the Night bonus, but first since December 2014. Pettis submitted Michael Chiesa in the second round with a triangle-armbar combo.

Khalil Rountree and Paulo Costa were the other two Performance of the Night winners. Rountree put kickboxing champion Ghokan Saki to sleep in the first round to capture his first post-fight bonus. Costa remained unbeaten, stopping Uriah Hall in the second round with strikes. It's his second post-fight bonus of his career.
