UFC Contender Zabit Magomedsharipov Leaning Towards Retirement

UFC featherweight contender Zabit Magomedsharipov is leaning towards retirement.

The surprising news was first reported by TASS News Agency's Igor Lazorin who described the intentions behind the 30-year old Russian martial artist's decision in the following Instagram post, stating that Magomedsharipov is simply tired of fighting after not competing in nearly 18 months and has lost the motivation for the sport.

"I spoke with close people of Zabit to understand how things are going. They say that Zabit is very likely to end his career and will not fight again."

Magomedsharipov is currently 18-1 overall as a professional and is 6-0 inside of the Octagon with his last appearance coming at UFC Fight Night 163 in November 2019 where he won a unanimous decision over Calvin Kattar. No official statement has yet been released from Magomedsharipov himself or his camp about the decision.
