The UFC pulled off a Christmas miracle.
UFC and Fox aired a special broadcast of this month's UFC 206 show on Christmas eve in prime time -- a spot usually reserved for Christmas themed programming. The move paid off, as the counter-Christmas show drew giant numbers.
The show drew 4.70 million viewers for a 1.6 rating and a 6 share. UFC 206 led the night and was the beneficiary of a helpful NFL late-afternoon lead in.
UFC 206 featured Max Holloway winning the interim UFC Featherweight Championship over Anthony Pettis, Donald Cerrone landing a head kick knock out against Matt Brown, and instant classic between Cub Swanson and Dooho Choi, and Lando Vannata's spinning wheel kick KO.
Fightful.com has learned that while the show was a success on Fox, the pay-per-view numbers were low, landing between 145,000 and 155,000.
