UFC Fight Night Sao Paulo Ratings Are In

The UFC returned to Brazil last weekend with UFC Fight Night Sao Paulo and the ratings are in.

A total of 588,000 people tuned in the Fox Sports 1 card, which was headlined by Derek Brunson defeating former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Lyoto Machida by first round knockout.

It was the welterweight division bout that saw Colby Covington defeat Demian Maia that drew the most viewers, with 671,000 people checking out the co-main event.

Other fights on the main card saw Pedro Munhoz defeat Rob Font, Francisco Trinaldo defeat Jim Miller, Thiago Santos defeat Jack Hermansson and John Lineker defeat Marlon Vera.

There was a four fight preliminary card that aired on Fox Sports 2, headlined by Vincente Luque defeating Niko Price that drew 198,000 viewers. Other preliminary card fights on Fox Sports 2 saw Jared Gordon defeat Hacran Dias, Elizeu Zaleski Dos Santos defeat Max Griffin and Antonio Carlos Jr. defeat Jack Marshman.

This event faced some stiff competition from the MLB World Series, which drew over 15,000,000 viewers for their event.

Also, a pre-fight show aired on FS2 drew 54,000 viewers and the post-fight show on FS1 drew 265,000 viewers.

Up next for the UFC and Fox Sports 1 is the UFC 217 preliminary card, which is going to be headlined by a lightweight division fight between Joe Duffy and James Vick.
