In the main event of UFC Vegas 28, the Korean Zombie restated his case as a title contender, with a clinical win over Dan Ige. See the highlights from that fight, as well as the rest of the undercard below.
Chan Sung Jung def. Dan Ige via Unanimous Decision (49-46, 49-46, 48,47)
In an entertaining but tactical bout, "the Korean Zombie" emerged victorious against Dan Ige. While the first round was very close the fight turned in the second when Zombie dropped Ige early in the round, and held considerable control time in back mount. From there it was mostly just more of the same, tho Ige was never out of the fight, he was never really able to wrest control from his Korean opponent.
Sergey Spivak def. Aleksei Oleinik via Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28)
In a gritty grappling heavy fight, Sergey Spivak emerged victorious over veteran warrior Aleksei Oleinik. Oleinik had an effective first round, threatening with multiple submissions and finishing the round in mount, but after that, his gas tank looked like it was spent, and Spivak was able to stay safe and ride the fight out in top position. Not the most exciting fight, but a good win for an up-and-coming heavyweight.
Marlon Vera def. Davey Grant via Unanimous Decision (30-26, 29-27, 29-28)
In an excellent fight, Marlon Vera got revenge for his loss in 2016 by scoring the victory over a very tough Davey Grant. Grant came out very well in the first round, with a variety of striking techniques. However, from there on, Vera got going with excellent clinch fighting, as well as dynamic grappling exchanges. This was a great fight, that if you missed it's worth tracking down.
Seung Woo Choi def. Julian Erosa via Knockout (Punches) (Rd 1. 1:37)
Korean's Seung Woo Choi came out throwing major heat, and it did not take long for him to catch Julian Erosa with a slick left hook to get the knockout. After getting off to a rough start by dropping his first two UFC fights, Choi has now won three straight and is making a name for himself in the featherweight division.
Bruno Silva def. Wellington Turman via Knockout (Ground and Pound) (Rd 1. 4:44)
UFC debutant Wellington Turman came out aggressively hunting the takedown or to take the back, but after struggling those aspects, he rolled looking for a leg-lock and got caught underneath Bruno Silva. Silva didn't need long once the fight was there to pound Turman into unconsciousness in vicious fashion.
Matt Brown def. Dhiego Lima via Knockout (Punch) (Rd. 2 3:03)
After a round and a half of fairly tepid kickboxing, Matt Brown showed that his power has gone no-where by melting Dhiego Lima with a one-punch knockout on a straight right hand down the pipe. Matt Brown has retired before, and is currently 40, as he noted to the camera post-fight, but there was no indication he'd be looking at hanging them up again.
