The undercard for UFC Vegas 29 seemed to be lacking in star power, it still delivered some fun action including a big knockout for Rick Glenn, and an impressive performance from Virna Jandiroba. See those highlights and everything else below.
Nicolae Negumereanu def. Aleksa Camur via Split Decision (29-28, 29-28, 28-29)
In the featured prelim, Moldovan Nicolae Negumereanu marched forward, and seemed unbothered by anything Aleksa Camur was landing against him. Despite Camur showing some impressive boxing, Negumereanu just constantly ate them in order to land huge shots of his own. However, this fight did feature numerous fence grabs from Negumereanu which were never punished, despite repeated warnings from referee Mike Beltran.
Virna Jandiroba def. Kanako Murata via Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27)
Over the course of two rounds, Virna Jandiroba dominated Kanako Murata in all phases of the fight, threatening a submission off her back, and hurting Murata numerous times on the feet. Between the second and third rounds the doctor called off the fight due to an injury to Murata's arm, caused by Jandiroba's submission attempt earlier in the fight.
Khaos Williams def. Matthew Semelsberger via Unanimous Decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28)
In a simmering kickboxing match that wasn't bad, but never really got out of first gear saw Khaos Williams emerge victorious. Positive to see Williams get back on the winning track after dropping his first UFC fight in his last encounter.
Josh Parisian def. Roque Martinez via Split Decision (29-28, 29-28, 28-29)
In an ugly fight between two large overweight heavyweights, Josh Parisian edged the split decision. The majority of the fight was spent in the clinch, and it was a pretty ugly fight.
Rick Glenn def. Joaquim Silva via Technical Knockout (Punches) (Rd 1. 0:37)
Joaquim Silva came out very hot in the first round, and Rick Glenn made him pay for it. Silva ran into a hard right hand and after a few followups, Glenn had the finish in his return to the octagon.
Casey O'Neill def. Lara Procopio via Submission (Rear-Naked Choke) (Rd 3. 2:54)
UFC rookie Casey O'Neill got off to a slow start dropping the first round to Lara Procopio, but she got rolling over the second half of the fight and found the finish at the mid-point of the 3rd round. O'Neill may be one to watch as she extends her undefeated record to 7-0.
