(#2) Paulo Costa vs. (#5) Marvin Vettori

Round One - The main even of the evening is underway with veteran referee Jason Herzog as the third-man inside of the octagon. After Costa enters the cage, he runs up to Vettori and the pair exchange words while both being held back from octagon security. After introductions from ring announcer Joe Martinez and final instructions from the aforementioned Herzog, this one is officially underway. Costa opens with a spinning front kick then follows it up with a heavy kick that lands on the lead leg of Vettori and adds another one for good measure. Costa goes for a kick to Vettori's body but slips and Vettori swarms but misses a flurry of shots. Back in the center of the cage, Vettori latches on and gets Costa in the clinch but Costa quickly powers out and the pair circle back to the middle of the octagon. Herzog explains to Costa that he needs to be careful but Costa starts complaining which causes Herzog to deduct a point away from Costa before resuming the fight. Costa narrowly missed two-straight high kicks and Vettori initiates the clinch but quickly disengages but lands an elbow and a follow pair of right hands on the break. Vettori unloads a flurry of shots to a cornered Costa but Costa pushes forward and stops Vettori in his tracks with a right hook that finds it's mark. Vettori throws back, landing a massive overhand left but Costa somehow walks through it and lands a kick to the body of Vettori, who dives in for a takedown but Costa stuffs the attempt and gets back to the middle of the cage. The pair trade heavy shots but not much comes of it as the buzzer sounds to send this one to the fifth and final round.
