UFC Veteran Zach Makovsky Suffers ACL Injury

Former Bellator MMA Bantamweight Champion and UFC veteran Zach Makovsky won’t be seen inside the cage for quite awhile.

The fighter recent announced that he has suffered a torn ACL, but did not reveal just how or when the injury was suffered.

Sidelined...They say winter is a season of recovery and preparation, and this is my likely viewpoint for the first half of 2018. Unfortunately, I’ve suffered the first serious injury of my career, a torn acl. I plan on doing whatever I can to make a full recovery and have a stellar last couple years of competition. --:@supersaiyanmagicalgirl

Makovsky didn’t have a fight scheduled at the moment and he was last seen in the cage at Absolute Championship Berkut 72, suffering a decision loss to Yoni Sherbatov. The fighter captured the Bellator MMA Bantamweight Title when he defeated Ed West by decision at Bellator 32.

Even though he didn’t have the best run in the UFC, winning just three of seven, a now injured Makovsky did defeat Tim Elliott by decision at UFC Fight Night 60.
