UFC Vice President & General Manager In Brazil Resigns From Company

Giovanni Decker, the UFC Vice President & General Manager in Brazil has announced his resignation from the promotion. No official statement has been made by the UFC or Decker at this time.

Decker joined the promotion in March of 2015, he previously spent a lot of time in the footwear industry, most notably becoming the president of ASICS Footwear,  located in Brazil. Decker replaced Grace Tourinho, who served in the same role in the UFC until October 2014, her tenure lasted less than a year.

Decker’s last major announcement for the company was a bevy of fights for the landmark UFC Fight Night 100 event, which is going to be headlined by a light heavyweight division fight between Antonio Rogerio Nogueira and Ryan Bader (who is replacing an injured Alexander Gustafsson).

The promotion only opened up and office in the country of Brazil in 2013, the company has held a total of twenty five events in the country since the day the office opened. There is no word yet on who will be replacing Decker. A statement by the UFC is expected in the coming days.

The next UFC event in Brazil will be the aforementioned UFC Fight Night 100, which will take place on Saturday, November 19th from the Ibirapuera Gymnasium in Sao Paulo, Brazil with Antonio Rogerio Nogueira and Ryan Bader headlining.
